Questions people ask

What is Hokkori?

Hokkori is a free cozy pomodoro timer that lives in a warm, hand-drawn pixel-art room. You set a focus session, the room responds — day turns to night, rain falls while you work — and you mix your own ambient soundscape from lofi music, rain, fire, and more. There are no ads, and no account is required.

Is Hokkori free?

Yes. Everything you see in Hokkori today is free, with no ads — ever. If you enjoy it, you can support development with an optional donation.

Does Hokkori work offline?

Yes. Hokkori is an installable web app (PWA). After your first visit it works fully offline — the timer, the room, and the ambient sounds all run locally in your browser.

Can the window show my city's real weather?

Yes. Pick any city in the world (or share your location — it's optional) and the room's window shows that city's live weather: rain, snow, fog, storms, wind swaying the trees, and day turning to night on that city's real sun. Six cities — Bangkok, Tokyo, London, Reykjavík, New York, and Sydney — get hand-drawn landmark views, and every other city gets a view matched to its climate. Seasons bring sakura petals, fireflies, falling leaves, and even aurora on clear far-north winter nights.

Do I need an account to use Hokkori?

No account is required. Your tasks, stats, and settings live in your own browser, and you can export your data anytime. Your focus-session times are also backed up under a random anonymous ID; task text stays in your browser unless you add an email, which carries your stats and streak, tasks, room settings, postcards and milestones to every device you sign in on.
