The room's diary
Everything that changed in the room, newest first. Small candles, lit one at a time.
13 oct 2026๐ฑ The plant in the corner grows
- The plant by the window now grows with every minute you focus, live, while the timer runs. At first something changes every 5 to 10 minutes: a seed, a first sprout at 5 minutes, more leaves, a small bush, a first bud at 1 hour 10, a first bloom at 1 hour 30, fully grown at 2 hours.
- After that it lives through a little season, a new step every 25 minutes: in bloom, petals drifting, turning gold, leaves falling, resting, new shoots, lush again, budding. Then it blooms again, in a new color each time: pink, white, yellow, purple, blue, and round again.
- Every minute of focus counts, including sessions you reset or skipped, minus the time you paused. The plant is about effort; your pet's bond is about finishing. It never wilts and never goes backwards.
- Tap the plant to see what stage it is in and how long until it changes. Its numbers are also in the stats panel, under your bond. Signed in with an email, it follows you to every device along with your session history.
12 oct 2026๐ช More to grow into with your pet
- At 50 hours together, on a rainy or snowy day in your city, your pet sometimes pads over to the window and sits on the sill to watch, then goes back to its day. When you start a focus it hurries back to its spot by the desk.
- At 100 hours, a long break (and now and then a short one) can end in a belly-up nap, with a little z floating by.
- At 250 hours, a framed photo of your pet goes up on the wall, with its name on a small plate. Hover it to see how long you've been together.
- With reduced motion on, your pet stays put: no window seat, no wandering.
12 oct 2026๐พ Your pet remembers
- The longer you focus together, the closer your pet gets. Every finished focus counts, pomodoro or flow (10 minutes or more). Skips don't, and the bond never goes down, however long you're away.
- Gifts along the way: at 1 hour you can pat them, at 5 hours a collar or bandana in a color you choose, at 10 hours a cozy bed by the desk, at 25 hours a toy they play with on your breaks. More is waiting further on.
- Your bond lives at the top of the stats panel, with how long until the next gift. Switch between the cat and the husky and the bond stays the same.
12 oct 2026โ๏ธ Your whole room, on every device
- Signed in with an email? Your tasks, room settings (theme, city, pet, timer lengths), postcards and pet bond now follow you to every phone and laptop, along with your stats and streak.
- Without an email, nothing changes: only anonymous session times are backed up, and your task text stays in your browser.
- Things that belong to one device stay there: sound levels, notifications and where you dragged the timer.
5 oct 2026๐ Flow mode
- A new pomodoro ยท flow toggle on the timer card: in flow, focus counts up from 00:00 and you press "take a break" whenever you're ready, instead of waiting for a fixed bell.
- The break length is suggested fairly from how long you just focused โ 5, 8, 10 or 15 minutes โ then counts down and chimes like any other break.
- Stay in it past an hour and a gentle chime with a "stretch for a sec?" note appears once. The clock never stops.
- Flows of 10 minutes or more count toward your streak, postcards and your pet's heart, and every 25 minutes still earns a ๐ on your current task. Hokkori now also tracks your longest flow and focus-hour milestones (1, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 250 hours).
- Read more in the Flowtime Technique guide.
5 oct 2026๐ Pop the room out
- Tap ๐ in the top bar and the room shrinks into a little window that floats above everything else โ your pet at the desk, the clock, and a pause button, while you work in other apps.
- It's the same room and the same timer, not a copy: pause in either place and both follow.
- Works in Chrome and Edge on a computer. On other browsers the button simply isn't there yet.
- New things now get a small dot and a one-time note when you come back, so you don't have to come looking here. Once you've read it, it stays gone.
21 sep 2026๐ Your room, on every device
- Sign up with just an email and a password โ your focus session history, stats and streak follow you to any phone or laptop. No confirmation hoops, no spam, ever. (Postcards themselves stay local to each device โ it's the sessions behind them that sync.)
- A little name tag appears in the corner once you're in, and a gentle sign-out when you want the device to be its own quiet room again.
- If your streak lives only in one browser, the room now quietly reminds you to keep it safe.
21 sep 2026๐ช Vote for the next window
- Under the city list there's now a "more cities?" door: search any city on earth and vote for its window to be hand-drawn into the room next.
- A tiny leaderboard shows the most wished-for windows. The most-loved city gets painted.
21 sep 2026๐ฏ๏ธ Candles together
- A streak board hangs on the wall now โ a small parchment with a candle stub that stays lit while your streak does. Skipped sessions no longer count; the flame is honest.
- "The world & you": an anonymous chart of when the community focuses, next to your own rhythm. Shared only if you opt in, shown only when enough people have.
- When others are focusing right now, a soft candle count flickers at the bottom of the room.
- Share your week as a pixel pattern card โ one image, your seven days, your streak.
13 sep 2026๐ฅ Real sound, living pets
- The fireplace and the rain now play real recordings, tuned until they sit right at any volume. The synth versions stay as a fallback.
- The cat (a Scottish Fold now) and the chubby husky live their own little lives: they nap, get up, wander the floor.
- The whole room re-stacks vertically on phones, with a camera that knows where to look.
12 sep 2026๐ Windows to the world
- Pick a city and the window shows its real weather, season and light โ rain in Tokyo falls on your glass too. Weather by Open-Meteo.
- The app became installable (PWA) and works offline. And it got its name: Hokkori (ใปใฃใใ) โ the gentle warmth inside.
12 sep 2026๐ช The room opens
- The first candle: a pomodoro timer in a hand-drawn pixel room, an ambient sound mixer, a small task list, stats with streaks โ all under 100 kB, free, no ads.
